At Kartatak, SAFETY is first and foremost, so here are some simple rules to ensure everybody has a fun and safe race:
  • Photo ID is required for all new licence applications.
  • No crashing Go Karts or hitting walls.
  • No sliding Go Karts.
  • No vehicle to vehicle contact.
  • No smoking on or near the track
  • Do not get out of your car unless told to by staff.
  • Drive very slowly (walking pace) in the pits [2 corners from licence for breach of this rule.]
  • When getting into Go Karts only stand on seat and floor plan (not on cables or tie rods)
  • Wear a hairnet under your helmet (tuck long hair into hairnet)
  • Make sure your helmet is secured.
  • Ensure your seatbelt is fastened securely.
  • Most important: Follow staff directions at all times.

If you're a first time driver, we ask that you drive your first two laps at a reduced speed, this will help assist you in learning the circuit and overtaking areas.
Note: Before any newly licensed driver is allowed to race, you will be quizzed on the rules.

  • Physical & Clothing Requirements:
    - Minimum Age / Height for driving Skid Cars is 8 Years Old / 127cm or 4ft 2"
    - Minimum Age / Height for driving Go Karts is 12 Years Old / 140cm or 4ft 9"
    - We recommend casual clothing for freedom of moment.
    - You will be required to wear enclosed shoes.
    - Your clothing may be subject to dirt and other adverse conditions during racing.

Kartatak staff will use signs to communicate with you, such as:
  • Drive Smoothly - do not slide car or drive recklessly.
  • Slow Down - reduce your speed.
  • No Contact - do not collide with other vehicles.
  • One Pedal Only - do not use the accelerator and brake at the same time.

    Traffic Warning System
Our premises are fitted with traffic status lights throughout the entire track. These warning lights control the race conditions and they must be adhered to at all times.
  • GREEN LIGHT - normal race conditions.
  • FLASHING AMBER LIGHT - accident or incident ahead, SLOW DOWN to walking pace.
  • RED LIGHT - race over, return to pits and stay in vehicle until told it's safe to exit.

Other warning and information flags are used during the race:
  • Blue Flag - someone wants to overtake you (let the vehicle behind you pass).
Move left and slow down a little, so they may safely pass you on the straights.
  • Yellow Flag / Black Slash - emergency flag (stop where you are and wait for restart)
  • Black Flag - disqualified (return to the pits immediately)
  • Red Flag - race stopped - (return to the pits immediately)
  • Chequered Flag - race over/won - (return to the pits)
Note: All drivers must sign an indemnity form, all drivers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
