At Kartatak, SAFETY is first and foremost,
so here are some simple rules to ensure everybody has a fun and safe
race:
- Photo ID is required for all new
licence applications.
- No crashing Go Karts or hitting
walls.
- No sliding Go Karts.
- No vehicle to vehicle contact.
- No smoking on or near the track
- Do not get out of your car unless
told to by staff.
- Drive very slowly (walking pace)
in the pits [2 corners from licence for breach of this rule.]
- When getting into Go Karts only
stand on seat and floor plan (not on cables or tie rods)
- Wear a hairnet under your helmet
(tuck long hair into hairnet)
- Make sure your helmet is
secured.
- Ensure your seatbelt is fastened
securely.
- Most important: Follow staff
directions at all times.
If you're a first time driver, we ask that you drive your first two
laps at a reduced speed, this will help assist you in learning the
circuit and overtaking areas.
Note: Before any newly licensed
driver is allowed to race, you will be quizzed on the rules.
- Physical & Clothing
Requirements:
- Minimum Age / Height for driving Skid Cars is 8
Years Old / 127cm or 4ft 2"

Minimum Age / Height for driving Go Karts is 12 Years Old /
140cm or 4ft 9"
- We recommend casual clothing for freedom of moment.
- You will be required to wear enclosed shoes.
- Your clothing may be subject to dirt and other adverse conditions
during racing.
Kartatak staff will use signs to communicate with you, such as:
- Drive Smoothly - do not
slide car or drive recklessly.
- Slow Down - reduce your
speed.
- No Contact - do not collide
with other vehicles.
- One Pedal Only - do not use
the accelerator and brake at the same time.
Traffic Warning System
Our premises are fitted with traffic status lights throughout the
entire track. These warning lights control the race conditions and
they must be adhered to at all times.

GREEN LIGHT
- normal race conditions.

FLASHING AMBER LIGHT
- accident or incident ahead, SLOW DOWN to walking pace.

RED LIGHT
- race over, return to pits and stay in vehicle until told it's safe
to exit.
Other warning and information flags are used during the race:
- Blue Flag
- someone wants to overtake you (let the vehicle behind you pass).
Move left and slow down a little, so they may safely pass you on the straights.
- Yellow
Flag / Black Slash -
emergency flag (stop where you are and wait for restart)
- Black Flag - disqualified
(return to the pits immediately)
- Red Flag
- race stopped - (return to the pits immediately)
- Chequered
Flag
- race over/won - (return to the pits)

Note: All drivers must sign an indemnity form, all drivers
under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal
guardian. |
